Happy Fasnacht Day!  Or as I like to call it “Donut Day”  I don’t believe I’ve ever had a true fascncht. Being 25% (maybe a bit less) Mexican Indian, we didn’t really “do” this as a celebration plus we weren’t Catholic and didn’t observe Lent as it is traditionally observed. Some day I plan on trying one of these treats, perhaps today if I get bored enough to go out haha.

But I do love bakeries. The warm feeling, the beautiful products, the scent of yeast…

Jaime posted on Facebook about a bakery in the UK…maybe I should go on a world tour hahaha  Hannah Banana Bakery    Check it out!

My daughter made vegan donuts over the weekend. I asked her to save me one to try…did she? Yes. Did I get to eat it? No. Why? Because that little turd asked me if I wanted one, I told her I did, but apparently because I didn’t drop everything to eat it, she decided to inhale it for me. >.>  Nice kid, eh?

Here are photos of her creations.

The chocolate donuts are a work in progress she says…not chocolately enough.

I wish I could bake bread without a machine. I probably can, I can do all sorts of other complicated things, why not bread? It scares me lol. I haven’t a clue why. My sister can bake bread really well…I’m sure my nieces can too. Me? Nope. Chicken bwak bwak!

mmm chicken 😉

Speaking of food, gotta figure out tonight’s vegan dinner.
